National security experiment ended All those who supported the "National Security Experiment" said they would analyze their behavior on the road and act rationally. “In just three weeks, we managed to unleash the activity of thousands of Poles who, by name and surname, supported the idea of ​​road safety. This is a huge social capital that needs to be valued and used to create a sustainable attitude towards traffic, says Andrzej Maciejewski, Deputy Director General of the National Roads and Highways.

National security experiment ended As part of the action, the organizers held educational events - first through the media, spreading knowledge about the practical aspects of road safety, and last weekend by organizing three family educational picnics. In Kołobrzeg, Łódź and Warsaw, on special platforms, it was possible to check the dangers of driving without wearing seat belts, as well as how the driver's body behaves when rolling over. Happening participants were also able to take a first aid course, test their knowledge of the rules of the road on electronic simulators, and even try their hand at driving a truck and bus.

Many provincial traffic centers, which also held educational activities over the weekend, have also joined the National Safety Experiment. Events took place, including at WORDs in Włocławek, Chełm, Słupsk, Zamość, Ciechanów and Biala Podlaska. Organizers estimated that more than 50 people took part in the picnics in Kołobrzeg, Łódź and Warsaw alone. During the weekend, travel in Poland was facilitated by information about the traffic situation, which was transmitted much more often than usual. News from individual voivodships was distributed by regional radio stations, and for the first time the possibility of communicating with drivers via mobile phones was used. Information was provided in this innovative way, among other things, about traffic difficulties, established detours, alternative routes or weather warnings. The SMS system proved to be very useful, especially when local roads were flooded during weekend rainstorms. In total, as many as 500 XNUMX were sent to subscribers. text information.

The action also became an occasion for the training of rescue services in case of an accident. In Stryków near Łódź, on the A2 motorway, an exercise of unprecedented magnitude was organized. Sixteen crashed cars were involved in the simulation of the accident, and a dozen extras acted as victims. The rescue operation was attended by fire brigades (including chemical ones), the police, the road service of the Main Directorate of Highways of State Importance, employees of the Road Transport Inspectorate and rescuers of the air ambulance service. Due to the large number of victims, medical assistance was provided in a specially installed tent, and the most severe victims were transported by helicopter, which landed on the A2 highway.

Despite the fact that the campaign is over, the organizers still give a chance to every road user to support the idea of ​​road safety. From today, the official website of the National Security Experiment (www.weekendbezofiar.pl) is changing its face. Thanks to a special application, you can not only put your signature, but also attach a photo. There will also be thousands of photos of people joining the campaign during educational picnics in Kołobrzeg, Lodz and Warsaw.

The organizer of the national security experiment is the General Directorate of National Roads and Highways. The project partners are the National Council for Road Safety, the General Directorate of Police, the General Directorate of the State Fire Service, the Ambulance Service and the General Inspectorate of Road Transport.
