Announced at the end of the series on the brand's website, the Decathlon Rockrider e-ST 500 electric mountain bike is offered at a discounted price while stocks last.

While they are clearly not some of the best e-bikes on the market, the models Decathlon have sold for several years have the advantage of meeting the needs of smaller budgets. Starting with a range of urban models, Decathlon followed the market trend by bringing electric mountain bikes to the market under its Rockrider brand.

Available in three colors, the Rockrider e-ST 500 is listed as "end of series" on the Decathlon website, where it will be available for €999 instead of €1199 at the usual time. Available in three sizes (S, M or L), the Decathlon e-ST 500 falls more into the entry-level electric mountain bike category. No Bosch or Yamaha motors built into the crankset. Instead, a motor is built into the rear wheel, capable of delivering up to 42 Nm of torque.

The lithium-ion battery housed in the frame is removable and has a total capacity of 420 Wh (36 V, 11.6 Ah). Offering three assistance modes and an integrated steering wheel display, the Rockrider e-ST 500 announces up to 2 hours of battery life.

On the bike side, we find a Shimano Altus M2000 9-speed derailleur as well as 180mm disc brakes for a total weight of around 22kg including battery.

While the Rockrider e-ST 500 is unlikely to be replaced, Decathlon is already announcing a new electric mountain bike on its website. The more expensive and upscale Rockrider e-ST 900 sells for 1999 euros. Available in 4 sizes (S, M, L and XL), it features the new Brose electric motor integrated into the crankset. It is capable of developing torque up to 90 Nm and has four assistance modes.

The battery capacity is also slightly higher than that of the E-ST 500, with a capacity of 504 Wh (36 V 14 Ah), which provides a theoretical autonomy of up to 3 hours of use.
