Electric motorcycle: BMW interested in wireless charging

In preparation for its first 100% electric motorcycle, the German brand BMW is exploring several avenues for recharging and, in particular, thinking about a smart induction device.

In the field of two-wheeled vehicles, BMW is doing its best. The German brand, already one of the European leaders in its segment with the C-Evolution electric maxi scooter, recently unveiled an electric roadster concept that heralds a future production model. If he has not yet provided details on the model's characteristics, the manufacturer could have resorted to induction charging the device.

The latest patent filed by Electrek claims a wireless charger with a fairly clever configuration. According to images released by the brand, the system is integrated into the motorcycle's sidestand. Enough to ensure direct contact with the receiver and thus guarantee maximum efficiency.

At the moment, the patent does not say at what power level the system can operate. In any case, he could position himself as a good alternative to conventional wired charging for home charging.
