Electric bike: Bafang starts the engine with integrated transmission

The Chinese electric bike brand has just unveiled its new rear powertrain. Named the H700, it is designed for city e-bikes and features an automatic gearshift device.

Bafang will soon release its new two-speed rear electric motor. Described by the manufacturer as "clean, compact and dynamic," this engine automatically adjusts the gear ratio by detecting the vehicle's speed as it pedals. In this way, the cyclist gets the best possible cadence without manual gear shifting and benefits from optimal driving comfort.

Modern motor adapted to all city e-bikes

Weighing 3,2 kg, with a maximum outside diameter of 136 mm and a standard outside diameter of 135 mm, the new Bafang H700 can be adapted to all standard sized e-bikes, both belt-driven and chain-driven. Compliant with electric bike regulations, displays 250W. Its torque reaches 32 Nm.

As is customary at Bafang, this motor is part of the complete system. A slim 10 Ah internal battery and controller are housed in a tube that integrates into the frame, and the assist control system (extremely simple with a single button) doesn't clutter up the steering wheel. Bafang has also developed a Bluetooth option that allows the bike to be connected to a mobile app.

“The all-new H700 rear-wheel drive system is designed with a clean bike concept in mind so you can enjoy a free, relaxed and flexible journey, even when pedaling through crowded cities. ” the developer sums up.

The new H2021 powerplant unveiled at the Eurobike 700 will be available in the coming weeks.
