Electric bike: Bosch wants to release inexpensive pedal motors

Bosch electric bike pedal motors, which until now have targeted high-end manufacturers, are looking to invest in more popular segments.

Remember us! Until a few years ago, only Panasonic offered pedal motors for electric bicycles. But the arrival of Bosch literally changed the game. After establishing itself as a leader in its product range, the German equipment manufacturer now wants to tackle the more popular segments with a new generation of "low cost" electric motors. Goal: To be successful in offering pedal-powered electric bicycles in the price range of € 1300 to € 1500, which is equivalent to what is offered today for wheel motors.

A challenge that could allow Bosch to gain valuable market share even if it has to compete with China's Bafang, which also wants to lower the cost of its pedal motors.
