Electric bike: Mad announces its first model

A new brand dedicated to electric bikes, Mad will unveil its first model in September. The declared selling price: 1999 euros.

Simply named Le Vélo, the only electric bike Mad sells, is the result of two years of work. At the origins of the project were two childhood friends who are now in their thirties: Charles Hertebes and Guillaume Adriansen.

Inspired by the mountain bike world, this urban bike features a wide handlebar, 650 wheels with WTB Horizon tires and LUCID hydraulic disc brakes. On the electrical side, Mad's e-bike has a 360 Wh battery. Depending on the level of assistance chosen, it announces an average range of 40 to 70 km, and the LCD screen built into the steering wheel allows you to select 5 operating modes.

From 1999 euros

The men's frame is expected to be complemented by unisex frames soon in September. Scheduled for next year, this female model is currently the subject of a crowdfunding campaign on the Ulule platform.

Announced from 1999 euros, the men's model is sold exclusively on the Internet. One way for MADs to shorten the distribution cycle and margins is to keep the low price model.
