The new battery, motor and controller assembly, called the X35 + from German supplier Mahle, is undoubtedly one of the most discreet on the market.

Less well known than heavyweights like Bosch, Yamaha or Shimano, Germany's Mahle is nevertheless particularly active in the electric bike market. To better stand out from the competition in the race for performance and autonomy, Mahle has opted for a minimalist system. Dubbed the X35 +, it weighs just 3,5kg including all components.

However, in order to minimize the clutter on his system, Mal had to make concessions. The lithium-ion battery powering the rear wheel motor has a limited capacity of 245 Wh. However, it can be supplemented with an additional 208 Wh add-on unit.
