Electric car at the 2011 Hours of Le Mans 24

24 Hours of Le Mans next year will see for the first time in its history electric car participation.

Baptized CM 0.11 (C for Courage, the manufacturer, M for Matis, its partner, 0 for zero CO2 emissions and 11 for its year of participation), this car will participate out of the race in the 79th edition of this event, which more and more unites car fans.

When asked about the reason for this insane bet, Yves Courage, CEO of Courage Technology, said the idea had been spinning in his head for a long time.

After selling his Courage Competition racing team in 2007, he decided to focus on the development and implementation of this car. To achieve this, Courage has teamed up with Matis, an engineering and cutting-edge technology giant.

The all-electric car of Yves Courage and Mathis is set in motion two permanent magnet motors everyone can develop 200 horsepower (150 kW) to achieve combined power 400 horsepower... CM 0.11 can reach maximum speed 315 km / h, which is more than honorable for an electric car!

Both engines are powered by high-performance lithium batteries. However, the car only has 30 minutes autonomy, (it takes 1 hour to recharge), so for the entire 24 hours of the race, the car will need five battery groups.

This is Yves Courage, personally, qui will perform the first wheel turns of this vehicle during the 2011 Hours of Le Mans for 24 years.
