Is the electric car registered and changed from white to green? Green array repeater? "Not earlier than February"

At the friendly district office in Warsaw, we asked about the possibility of replacing white license plates with those with the same number, but with green ones. It turned out that at the moment this is impossible - there are no duplicate license plates with a green background yet. They will appear, but not before mid-February.

Paragraph 5 of the Ordinance on New License Plates clearly states that the registering authority, at the request of the owner of the electric vehicle, issues (read: must issue) duplicate of legalized arrays. Thus, the regulation provides for the possibility of replacing white boards with green ones:

Of course, this body - city or district government - will issue a green duplicate only if it has one. And there are no green duplicates in the offices.

Andrzej Opala, spokesman for the Warsaw District Office Prague-Midday, told us that the waiting time for a duplicate with a green background, that is, a green license plate with the same previous number, can even last until mid-February..

In other communications departments, we heard similar dates ("in February", "necessarily this quarter") or the people who provided us with the information could not give the exact date. In one of the offices, our interlocutor did not know that there was such an opportunity ("there will be no duplicate").

Interestingly, our reader from Szczecin heard that it is currently impossible to order a duplicate. On the other side this has already been done in Gdansk (a source).

Hence, if someone has a registered electric vehicle and MUST have green license plates, he can choose to re-register the vehicle with all the consequences... However, it should be remembered that the cost of this operation is higher, because instead of paying for the issue of a duplicate license plate (PLN 93), we will pay about PLN 180.
