Ural electric motorcycle powered by Zero Motorcycles components. It is a MUST to ride! [EICMA 2018]

The Russian motorcycle manufacturer Ural has presented a new embodiment of an old classic. Together with Zero Motorcycles, the company has created an electric Ural with a trailer, which has a total battery capacity of a whopping 19,5 kWh! That's slightly less than the cheapest Nissan Leaf until recently, and more than the Smart EQ.

In the Urals, two battery packs were used, which were used in Zero electric motorcycles: ZF13 and ZF6.5, the total capacity of which, as already mentioned, is 19,5 kWh. The powertrain also came from an American partner: the Zero Z-Force engine offers 61bhp. (45 kW) and a torque of 110 Nm. The manufacturer also boasts that a low battery level lowers the vehicle's center of gravity, which increases its stability. anyway the design is Russian, and maybe even Soviet - and this gives an unusual flavor.

Electric Ural is only at the prototype stage, so don't expect it to go into production right away. However, it uses the classic Russian ST platform, which has been modified to meet the needs of the electric drive, which bodes well for a possible implementation. Company representatives attending EICMA 2018 say mass production could start in about 24 months.

The range of the motorcycle is 165 kilometers (manufacturer's declaration), the maximum speed is 140 km / h. However, Ural recommends driving at speeds up to 105 km / h - probably for safety reasons and due to electricity consumption.
