Electric motorcycle: Voxan postpones attempt to set speed record

Faced with the global coronavirus crisis, the brand owned by the Monaco group Venturi has decided to postpone its attempt to set an electric motorcycle speed record.

The speed record for the Voxan Wattman electric motorcycle, originally scheduled for July 2020 at the famous Uyuni salt lake, Bolivia, has been postponed. The teams responsible for the development of the prototype, whose first circuit tests have just completed, are now confined to their homes in accordance with directives from the Monaco government in the face of the spread of COVID-19.

“The health and safety of my teams comes first. We will establish a new schedule of operations as soon as the health situation allows and announce a new operating structure for this project, which is especially close to my heart.” said Gildo Pastor, chairman of the Venturi group.

Voxan, acquired in 2010 by the Venturi Group, has made this record-breaking endeavor its top priority.

Designed by Sasha Lakic and based on the first concept presented in 2013, Voxan Wattman aims to accelerate to 330 km / h to break the current record set at 327,608 km / h in 2013 by Jim Hoogheide in his Lighting SB220.
