No device available on the market can effectively protect our car if it is not properly installed. Having decided to buy electronic protection, let's check if it has a quality certificate. Only certified alarms are recognized by insurance companies.
How do we share security?
The vehicle must be protected by at least two independent safety devices. They are divided by the level of protection. The PIMOT classification distinguishes four classes.
The simplest devices of the popular class (POP) react to the opening of the hood, door and trunk. Usually they do not block the ignition, but only warn with a siren or car horn in case of an attempted theft. They are controlled by a remote control or a coded key.
The second class is the standard level (STD). Security devices from this group have a modular structure. They have at least one engine lock, interior protection sensor and a self-powered siren. Controlled by floating code key or remote control. The third level is the professional class (PRF). Such security measures are no small problem for a daredevil who wants to steal our car. PRF class devices are equipped with a power supply 
redundant, at least two interior security sensors, an additional engine or anti-theft lock, a coded service switch and an additional hood opening sensor. The siren has its own independent power supply. The key (or remote control) has enhanced code protection. The fourth class - Special (EXTRA) - has everything that was mentioned earlier, plus a vehicle position sensor (in case you try to load the car onto a trailer) and an alarm radio notification.
What can the immobilizer cut off?
Particularly effective security measures, such as the use of satellite positioning techniques, give us a significant discount on AC. At the same time, we can use simpler and less expensive systems that will also give us discounts. However, such systems should not be used as a separate element, but as a safety kit. This includes blocking the fuel pump, to break through it is to dismantle the sofa, under which the thief will find a riveted plate that protects the power cut-off module. Another example is a "mechanical" electronically controlled brake lock. Electronic systems can also disable the fuel pump, ignition, or starter. When choosing protection, pay attention to the number of blocked circuits and how to disable blocking. The contactless immobilizer is an innovative electronic device controlled by a contactless programmable identifier - a transponder (an electronic key placed on the key ring). The immobilizer protects the vehicle by breaking the electrical circuits of the vehicle installation.

Comfortable security
Anti-theft systems or anti-theft systems that securely lock door locks after starting the engine, turn off the engine, etc. are standard today. Sophisticated electronic systems can automatically close windows, remotely start the engine (when we are still at home to warm up the unit), or maintain operation engine equipped with a turbocharger for a few minutes, thus allowing it to cool down properly. Also noteworthy is the possibility of calling the driver by a passenger waiting by the car or by finding the car in the parking lot, which is especially convenient when parking the car in a dark parking lot. Service condition - it helps a lot when there is a need to take the car to the mechanic. In the service state, the system is disabled and does not cause difficulties when repairing the car. We also don't have to reveal the mechanics of how we shut down the system and where the hidden button or control panel emergency bypass is located.
Investing in feelings
In addition to standard sensors, you can invest in additional senses. In the passenger compartment, it is recommended to install ultrasonic sensors that detect movement. Good ultrasonic transducers are resistant to interference from other electronic devices and are not excited by random signals.
Functions similar to the ultrasonic sensor are performed by a microwave sensor, which creates an electromagnetic field around the car in the range from 0,5 m to 3 m. If you try to move within the sensor's coverage area, an alarm is triggered. The pralarm system is a short single alarm impulse triggered by a short-term violation of the zone protected by an additional sensor. In the "panic" option, pressing the corresponding button on the remote control will cause an alarm for a few seconds. Many other sensors are available on the market, such as glass break or impact sensors. The digital tilt sensor detects the movement of the car, and the signals reaching it are subjected to an intelligent filtering algorithm that eliminates excitation, for example, due to weather conditions.

Security devices should be installed on professional installations that exclude the schematic assembly of individual system components. It is not so much the system itself that is difficult to overcome, but its location.
