CityScoot electric scooters begin trials in Nice

50 Cityscoot electric scooters were deployed in Nice to test the service for about two months. The first phase, which will allow the operator to collect feedback from beta testers prior to the official launch scheduled for May.

“I am very pleased with this preliminary launch. We are convinced that this full-scale experiment will demonstrate how our new mobility solution can adapt to the needs of good people. " said Bertrand Fleurose, founding president of CityScoot.

Acting on the same principle as the system already in operation in Paris, the new service will be based on a “free float” system that allows users to collect and return scooters within a defined perimeter. Today, limited to a small area (see below), it will gradually expand with the introduction of new scooters.

Target: 500 scooters in 2018.

If the experimental phase is based on only about fifty electric scooters reserved for the hundreds of beta testers already registered to test the service, CityScoot's goal is to go much further.

By the end of the year, Cityscoot plans to deploy 500 scooters in the Nice metropolis. Enough to create 30 new jobs and offer additional services to Auto Bleue, a self-service electric vehicle.
