Launched on 25 August in Antwerp, Belgium, Poppy uses a fleet of shared cars and electric scooters.

Poppy, which operates without a station, is based on the concept of "free floating" - a special mobile application that allows users to locate and reserve a car nearby. At the end of use, the scooters can be returned to the “home zone” defined by the operator.

First test on Peugeot

Poppy already launched 350 eco vehicles in Antwerp last January and has just added 25 electric scooters supplied by Peugeot. After the testing phase, the fleet will be expanded to 100 shared scooters. Multimodal positioning that allows Peugeot Motocycles to test its Genze 2.0 electric scooter for the first time in self-service applications.

Powered by a removable 2 kWh lithium-ion lithium-ion battery, the Peugeot electric scooter was developed in collaboration with Genze, a brand of the Indian Mahindra group. Peugeot 3.2, equipped with a 50 kW electric motor and categorized as a 2.0 cc equivalent. See, offers three driving modes and an autonomy of up to 50 kilometers.

25 cents per minute

As with cars, payment for scooters is per minute. The price of an electric scooter is naturally lower. Calculate 25 cents for each minute of driving and 10 cents if you are parked but want to keep your reservation for a time of your choice.

As with public cars, the use of electric scooters does not require registration. The advertised rate is also all inclusive, with Poppy covering maintenance, battery charging, insurance, and more.
