Self-service electric scooters arrive at Lyon Parc Auto

After bicycles and cars, it is the turn of e-scooters to invest in Lyon through a new service opened this Friday by Wattmobile, a company specializing in electric two-wheelers and owned by the Indigo group for several months.

A total of ten electric scooters have been distributed across three parking lots in the city, operated by Lyon Parc Auto, partner and service manager: Terreaux, Part-Dieu station and Les Halles.

The service is available from the age of 20 and requires a preliminary subscription of € 30 per month, to which will be added a flat hourly rate of € XNUMX per hour. Due to the small number of stations, customers will have to return the electric scooters to the point of departure.

The first experimental step

For Lyon Parc Auto, this service aims to better respond to new urban trends. “The city is changing, so are the modes of transport. We see that people move more on bicycles, e-scooters, etc. D. ", says Louis Pelaez, president of Lyon Parc Auto, for 20 minutes a day.

Not only will the service not be rolled out on a large scale, it is currently only in a pilot phase that should be used to assess Lyons' level of commitment to the system. The first assessment is expected by the end of the year. If it turns out to be positive, new stations may appear early next year.
