Electric taxi scooters: Felix and CityBird join forces

A pioneer in the electric scooter taxi business in Paris, startup Felix has just announced its partnership with CityBird, the motorcycle taxi specialist, to accelerate the rollout of its concept in France and Europe.

Through this partnership and a € 1,2 million fundraiser, Felix hopes to revitalize its activities, which began in 2016 in the Ile-de-France region, with a fleet of BMW C-Evolution maxi electric scooters.

Focusing on Paris and its suburbs, the service deployed by Félix is mainly aimed at short trips with prices close to those offered by the VTC - 3 euros per kilometer - and the advantage of being able to bypass the often congested roads of the Paris regional network.

Felix currently has a hundred electric scooter taxis in the Ile-de-France and about 10.000 users have downloaded his app.

“Merging with such a reputable player as CityBird will allow us to accelerate our development and bring this ambitious project to life,” welcomes Thibault Guerin, co-founder of Felix.

« We will be able to develop Felix and new ways to use e-mobility based on Citybird's experience and customer base. With this merger, two-wheeled vehicles with a driver will become more democratic and offer a new user experience. "Adds Kirill Zimmermann, President of the new company Felix-CityBird.

At this stage, the two partners do not detail their action plan.
