E-bike: new Bosch eBike for 2019

Like every year, Bosch has just unveiled the latest in its electric bike lineup. Vintage 2019 full of new features: Kiox on-board computer, Bosch eBike ABS, Cobi.Bike system, etc.

German supplier Bosch, one of the European leaders in the electric bike market, has chosen Eurobike to showcase its latest innovations.

New on-board computer Kiox

The minimalistic new display integrated into the Bosch 2019 lineup is called the Kiox. Featuring the core functionality of the Nyon console, it is linked to an intuitive thumb-selectable steering wheel control system and consists of a 1.9-inch color screen with special UV protection.

The new Bosch Kiox on-board computer, which offers much more discreet integration than the previous system, has a Bluetooth function that allows you to connect your bike to a heart rate monitor such as the Polar H7.

Cobi.bike screen

Purchased in 2017 by a German equipment manufacturer, the device developed by Cobi.bike now integrates Bosch electric bikes. Compatible with e-bikes equipped with Nyon and Intuvia consoles, it allows you to connect your smartphone via Bluetooth or USB to turn it into a true on-board computer, entitling you to many advanced features such as GPS and new apps.

Bosch ABS system

The ABS system introduced in the previous Eurobike release is now a reality. This patented braking device, which is available on several brands of bicycles equipped with the Bosch system, is developed in the automotive industry and prevents the wheels from locking.

Currently reserved for some top models such as those sold by Riese & Muller, Bosch ABS measures the difference in rotation between the rear and front wheels and is activated in an emergency. Enough to improve safety, especially on gravel roads, Bosch estimates it could reduce e-bike accidents by 15%.

Even more powerful Performance Line CX system

The Performance Line CX is considered the best in the Bosch engine range with a 300% boost and is being developed again this year. In the program: a new design of short connecting rods to increase ground clearance and a more powerful vehicle to overcome any obstacles.

Faster charger

With up to 6 A of current, 2 A more than a standard charger, the new Bosch Fast Charger can fully charge a PowerTube 100 or PowerPack 500 in three hours, while it only takes a 500% charge once. Something to satisfy in a hurry.

Compatible with all Bosch systems, Bosch e-bike quick charger is slightly heavier. With a total weight of one kilogram, it displays 200 grams more than a standard charger.
