General Motors' e-bikes arrive in Europe

Officially unveiled earlier this year, General Motors' new electric bike brand will officially launch in the Netherlands on June 21st.

Selected as part of a global crowdsourcing campaign announced in November 2018, Ariv is General Motors' first brand to specialize in electric bicycles. Thanks to the segment's success in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, the American group will officially launch their models in Europe at the end of June.

From 2800 euros

The Ariv brand, created by GM's Urban Mobility Solutions division, is today made up of two models based on the same foundation. Thus, Meld will be complemented by its foldable version of Merge.

General Motors' e-bikes arrive in Europe

In line with the current European electric bike regulations, the two models offer speeds up to 25 km / h with up to 250 watts of power and 75 Nm of torque. As for autonomy, the manufacturer promises about 60 kilometers with charging, the battery capacity has not yet been specified.

As for the price, count from € 2750 to € 2800 for the Meld and € 3350 to € 3400 for the Merge.
