Harley-Davidson e-bikes: Serial 1 prices in 2021
Announced a few weeks ago, a new brand dedicated to the Harley-Davidson electric bike market is unveiling its first four models. The first deliveries are expected in the spring of 2021.
Still limited to the electric motorcycle market with Livewire, Harley-Davidson is expanding its offering and investing in a new segment: electric bicycles. To celebrate the occasion and not create confusion with its early adopters, the American manufacturer decided to introduce the offer under a new brand name: Serial 1. Announced a few weeks ago, it starts with the formalization of its first four products.
High-end positioning
In terms of price, Harley-Davidson's offer turned out to be quite expensive. The most affordable model in the Serial 1 line, MOSH / CTY from 3499 €. It features a pedal motor delivering up to 90 Nm of torque and a 529 Wh battery built into the frame for a range of 56 to 168 km on a single charge. On the chassis, the model includes an Enviolo automatic transmission, front and rear hydraulic disc brakes. And all this at 21,9 kg, which remains a bit high for the top-of-the-line model.
Then goes RUSH / CTY STEP-THRU... Equipped with an open frame, more practical in daily life, it has the same battery as the MOSH / CTY (529 Wh) and offers a range of 48 to 144 kilometers. RRP: 4599 €!
Is on sale for 100 euros more or 4699 euros for RUSH / CTY stands out for its 706 Wh battery. The flip side of the coin: the bike is too heavy. With 4,8 kg more in weight, it rises to 26,7 kg. For part of the cycle, he receives the same equipment as MOSH / CTY.
The climax is an astronomical price of 5199 euros. RUSH / CTY SPEED belongs to the category of high-speed motorcycles with speeds up to 45 km / h. Equipped with a 706 Wh battery, it provides an autonomy of 40 to 185 kilometers.
First deliveries in 2021
Harley-Davidson's new line of electric bikes, available for pre-order in the US and Germany, will begin in spring 2021.
On paper, we admit we weren't particularly convinced by this first offering from Harley-Davidson and its new Serial 1 brand. Too expensive and too heavy, these electric bikes are sure to appeal to fans of the brand. More pragmatic people can easily find better and cheaper elsewhere ...
