Harley-Davidson e-bikes: first insight into pricing

A line of Harley-Davidson electric bikes, advertised for between $ 2500 and $ 5000, according to an anonymous source, will launch next year.

If all the media attention is currently focused on the launch of Livewire, the American brand wants to launch a much larger electric range. Apart from motorcycles, we are also talking about scooters, but also electric bicycles. While the manufacturer presented a first look at this upcoming line a few weeks ago, new information has just leaked onto the Internet.

According to information provided to Electrek from an anonymous source, the brand operates at different power levels to suit the different markets in which it wants to market its offering. In Europe, Harley-Davidson electric bicycles will be limited to a top speed of 25 km / h. In the United States, where the power rating is slightly higher (750 W versus 250 in Europe), it will increase to 32 km / h.

At the same time, the brand will offer speed bike versions as well. Capable of speeds up to 45 km / h, they will be reserved for the US market only.

2500-5000 dollars

When it comes to pricing, it's no surprise that Harley-Davidson is targeting the mid-to-high-end market. According to the same source, the line will start at $ 2500 for the "entry-level" model and up to $ 5000 for the more equipped versions.

Since Americans are used to talking about duty-free prices, we can expect the price range for the European market to start from 2600-2900 euros.

Launch in 2020

Harley-Davidson will launch a line of electric bikes in 2020.

In the United States, the brand has already launched an internal communications campaign to inform its dealers of this new business.
