If your car overheats frequently, it may be in trouble.

There are many reasons why your car overheats, but some are more common than others. That's why, Here we present some of the faults that can cause your car to overheat. 

1.- Dirty radiator 

A radiator is a device that provides heat exchange between two media and serves to remove heat from the car and thus prevent it from overheating.

Most of the time we don't pay enough attention to this and forget to maintain the radiator. Nonetheless, and thus keep it in working order.

2.- Thermostat

The thermostat is a small part that is part of the car's cooling system, the function of which is to regulate the temperature of the engine, and if the engine breaks down, it can overheat and stop working.

3.- Lack of coolant 

Coolant is vital for a car to perform at its best and maintain the correct temperature.

It's good to know that the engine reaches 194°F and as long as it doesn't exceed that temperature, it doesn't need to be cooled. The engine temperature is monitored, when the coolant9 reaches the ideal temperature, the thermostat opens and circulates through the engine, which absorbs heat to regulate the operating temperature.

4.- Fan not working 

All vehicles have a fan that should turn on when the engine temperature exceeds approximately 203ºF. Usually in summer, if this part doesn't work properly, the car will overheat because the ambient temperature won't help the car to cool properly.
