Ethec: an electric motorcycle designed by students

Designed and built by Swiss students from ETH Zurich, Ethec claims up to 400 kilometers of autonomy.

Its appearance is impressive, its characteristics are also ... shown a few days ago, Ethec presents the results of several months of work by about twenty students from the University of Zurich in Switzerland.

The 1260-cell lithium-ion battery has a total capacity of 15 kWh, and students generously announce 400 kilometers of autonomy. A battery that is charged from the mains, but also while driving. The students, in particular, worked on a regenerative section with a second motor built into the front wheel, which allows energy to be recovered during the braking and decelerating phases.

Equipped with two motors in wheels, the Ethec has a rated power of 22 kW and up to 50 kW in Crete. Maximum speed or acceleration, its performance is not reported.
