Ferrari 348. Classic car restored in Poland This is a unique copy of the Ferrari 348. It left the factory with serial number 004, which means that it was the first to be put into public use. The previous 3 went to official Ferrari museums. The project of its complete reconstruction was implemented by the hands of one family - father and son - Andrzej and Piotr Dzyurka.

The history of the Ferrari 348 began at Pininfarina. The design of the car refers to the Testarossa model, which is why the Ferrari 248 is called the “little Testarossa”. Under the hood is a V8 engine with a cylinder opening angle of 90 degrees, with a capacity of 300 hp. The Italian classic is characterized by a beautiful and unique body line with very distinctive air intakes and retractable headlights.

Technical data bewitched in the title

The model number is also not accidental - 348 - these are differently encrypted technical data of the car: 34 means an engine capacity of 3,4 liters, and 8 is nothing more than the number of cylinders working in it. The gearbox is modeled after Formula 1 cars. It is positioned transversely behind the engine for an even lower center of gravity, while the multi-link suspension and four-piston brake calipers reflect the feel of a racing car.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the gearbox. Its lever is unusual because the standard H system shifts gears to 1. This is a deliberate procedure to speed up shifting of the most frequently used gears, i.e. 2-3, by placing them in a straight line.

Created from passion for young people

The Ferrari 348 project involved a complete update of the aforementioned model. The work was carried out by Andrzej and Piotr, the owners of ALDA Motorsport. The company is a family project born out of passion. On the one hand, this is a car workshop specializing in premium brands, restaurants for young people and service for racing cars, and on the other hand, the ALDA Motorsport team with more than 40 years of motorsport experience.

How to restore a Ferrari?

Using this unique car as an example, the mechanics showed how to restore a real Italian classic. It all started with a thorough disassembly of the car into primary factors and with the selection of removed parts - thanks to this, it was possible to leave it as it is. as many items as possible or intact.

The repair process itself began with the removal of the old paintwork from the car body and its fixing with appropriate primers. Then it was time for painting.

Refurbished to the last detail

The mechanical parts of the car are also subjected to many processes: cleaning, washing, grinding, sandblasting, polishing and refinishing, electroplating and chrome coating. The interior of the car has been completely restored.

Assembly was the most time-consuming stage of the repair. Accuracy in the selection of elements to each other played a very important role here. The operation of the engine, gearbox, clutch and other mechanical and electrical components was checked at the hospital. Then the track tests were carried out - the car was returned for the last technical inspection.
