Fiat Stilo 1.9 16V Multijet (140 km) dynamic

The Fiat Stilo, at least the three-door version, is not so different that it is worth wasting words. although I was surprised when a colleague from Primorye, a professional designer, enthusiastically said: “Stilissimo! "

With this Italian word, he hinted at the name and shape of the car, since his enthusiasm for the curves of the body was genuine. “Look at those flat surfaces, the uniformity of all parts of the car, the consistency…” he grumbled, and I just wrinkled my nose and said that Bravo was and still is prettier to me.

The only real novelty of the test vehicle is the new four-cylinder turbodiesel, dubbed the Multijet, which, with its second generation Common Rail engines, is even more impressive in terms of agility and fuel consumption.

Let me just say in fact: the consumption during the test ranged from eleven (dynamic driving) to six liters (more realistic consumption), when the right foot simply rested on the accelerator pedal. Or acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in just 9 seconds, and these are ten reasons to buy, as the engine "pulls" from low revs.

Although the maximum speed is 200 km / h for 140 hp. - not quite the highest achievement. Lastly, let me mention the six-speed gearbox, which isn't one of the fastest in the world, but is precise enough for a sportier ride.

I have experienced many wonderful things with this Stilo. I’m just telling one story: On Saturday night I “squeezed” it down an empty country road, as if it were my life. I liked the softer yet predictable chassis, the moderately fast but reliable drivetrain, and the power steering, which, for my taste, could help my hands work less.

Then a warning light came on in the wilderness that there were only 80 kilometers of fuel left. Knowing that I would not reach the petrol card until Monday, I drove from there very calmly, economically. Well, on the onboard computer, I noticed that the predicted range is slowly increasing. By the age of eighty, the number had grown to 100, 120, 140, 160 in a matter of hours and stopped at 180.

If I were the owner, I would be happy as an ultramarathon runner with an unexpected refreshing drink, because the more I skated, the more I could skate! !! Well, out of curiosity, let me say that the warning light never went out despite the 180km range, but I did drive a lot over the next three days.

Unfortunately, they had three bad days with this machine: the planner in the front seat and two workers behind the assembly line. Every time I reached for the seatbelt (which was already a bit of a feat since the three-door version has the B-pillar far behind the front seats), the seatbelt got stuck against the protruding seat shift lever.

A small mistake that always gets on your nerves, so we can rightly ask ourselves if these people never ride with their creations! Well, these poor fellows pasted the Stilo inscription with an artistic accessory behind the scotch tape (does it seem to you that the S climbed somewhere to the side?) And, most importantly, all systems were poorly connected when the warning that they were not wearing a seat belt.

Several times there was a beep for unbuttoning, despite the fact that I was tied like Schumacher in Formula 1. Or was it already a design flaw, and Giovanni was not to blame for the assembly line?

Choice is what excites me the most about modern turbodiesels. He can be a very fast athlete, a fast sprinter, so it's no surprise that more and more sports versions smell like gas oil. But when you want to save money, the sprinter becomes a long-distance runner where you forget when you last visited a gas station.
