Fiatova alternativa // Short test: Fiat 500X City Look 1,3 T4 GSE TCT Cross

Fiat has presented an updated version in accordance with the requirements of the modified admission rules. 1,3-liter turbocharged petrol engine in the updated 500X. The very rich equipment stands out in particular, including electronic driving assistants such as an electronic lane limiting system and active cruise control. In the latter case, it is worth mentioning that Fiat is one of the few that offers a choice of two active steering options that adapt to the speed of the person in front, i.e. by staying at an appropriate safe distance, or conventional cruise control, where we simply select a constant speed and then react arbitrarily by slowing down if traffic conditions require it. So it also alleviates a little the maladaptation that occurs when driving with active cruise control, when the engine and automatic transmission response to reduced speed is not direct and smooth.

However, the combination of an engine and an automatic (dual-clutch) transmission comes in handy when we want to drive a little more decisively, which is why this 500X feels very sharp and powerful.

Slightly less satisfactory driving comfort, especially on bumpy roads, the suspension only partially prevents bouncing on bumps. He is much better at cornering, that is, his position on the road. Our test car only had front-wheel drive, but it still turned out to be quite good. Of course, with this car, which is planted slightly above the ground, we can drive on less paved roads, and there the lack of rear-wheel drive is not such a noticeable feature, but those who are looking for a car that fit some In odorless winter poses will have to choose the version with four-wheel drive.

Of course, the 500X has been around for a long time, but the latest updates have not changed its appearance, but added new content. It's still in style with the Fiat 500 designation, which this means more “bloated” hips and therefore less translucency, even through the engine bay it's hard to gauge how much space we have left. An accessory - a rear view camera - gives you a look back.

The infotainment system has also been updated, now there is a center touchscreen with a diagonal of seven inches, the radio also has a receiver for digital radio (DAB) and navigation, and with bluetooth, there is also the possibility of phone mirroring for Apple devices (CarPlay).

The list of accessories (safety package II, electric panoramic roof, winter package, full lighting package and premium package I) offers a variety of accessories, all of which contribute to the final price, which is already surprisingly high - almost three tens of thousands.

But, of course, the final impression of usability and comfort is much better, and among small urban crossovers, the 500X is a pretty nice design and another alternative.
