Is the sense of self somewhere between solid and liquid? New concepts emerging in physics try to explain this...

Consciousness, mind or, if you like, spirit are associated with something transient, and if fleeting, then gaseous. On the other hand, constancy and constancy of views are valued in life, just as in hard work. The benefits of fluidity in mental processes are also often emphasized, which again resembles a fluid state of aggregation. Meanwhile, as it turns out, consciousness can be a completely new, previously unknown state of concentration.

At least, that's what Max Tegmark (1), professor of physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), thinks so in his new book, yet unknown in Poland, Our Mathematical Universe. His concepts are a modern version of the materialistic battle with the concept of the soul, that is, something that "exists" outside the laws of physics, which we are able to know scientifically.
