Volkswagen Multivan. You can order right now. What price?

Three equipment lines, three engine versions, including a hybrid for the first time. The car is already available for sale, and brand dealers from all over Poland invite you to their showrooms for test drives.

The new Multivan is the first vehicle from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to be built on the MQB modular transverse engine platform. Conceptually, it's also a huge technical leap, as it introduces a plug-in hybrid for the first time in the powertrain line-up, as well as a new combined driver assistance, control and infotainment system.

Volkswagen Multivan. First Multivan with plug-in hybrid drive

One of the most important fixed parameters in the New Multivan design specification was the plug-in hybrid drive. The Multivan plug-in hybrid has the eHybrid suffix in its name. The output of the electric motor system and the turbocharged petrol engine (TSI) is 160 kW/218 hp.

Thanks to its 13 kWh lithium-ion battery, the New Multivan eHybrid most often covers daytime distances using only electricity. A study by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure shows that 95% of all daily road trips in Germany are under 50 km. The plug-in hybrid powertrain is designed so that the new Multivan eHybrid starts in pure electric mode by default, allowing for particularly short trips without any carbon emissions. The economical TSI petrol engine only starts at speeds above 130 km/h.

Paired with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, the front-wheel-drive Multivan will be available with two 100kW/136hp four-cylinder turbo engines. and 150 kW/204 hp A four-cylinder TDI diesel engine with 110 kW/150 hp will be available next year.

The car has been designed with different target groups in mind: families, active sports enthusiasts or business travelers, so in its interior we will find a number of thoughtful solutions, such as, for example, seven independent seats that can accommodate everyone, even a fairly large family, a free positioning system seats with the function of their quick dismantling, which increases the volume of the luggage compartment, or an optional folding center table, which, thanks to the rail system, can be moved along the entire length of the interior. People traveling long distances or using the Multivan as a recreational vehicle can not only carry a bike or surfboard inside, but also arrange the interior so that it is comfortable to sleep in the car.

In the New Multivan, thanks to the MQB platform, the set of driver assistance systems has been significantly expanded. The maximum configuration of equipment on board the Multivan includes more than 20 systems that increase comfort and safety. Standard equipment includes Front Assist environmental monitoring with pedestrian and cyclist detection, collision avoidance with new Turn Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Assist. Many systems are available for this series of models for the first time. These are: Car2X interactive system (local communication with other vehicles and road infrastructure), turning assistant (warns of oncoming traffic when crossing a lane), departure warning (part of the Side Assist lane change assistant; warns of oncoming bicycles from behind) and others vehicles when the door is opened) and the Travel Assist driving assistance system.
