As a rule, three-cylinder engines are the base line. Ford, when designing the new Fiesta, probably forgot about this and also built such an engine under the hood of the top-end version - the Ford Fiesta ST. What is the effect?

Ford Fiesta ST it's synonymous with the B-segment hot hatch. It's been setting the standard for years, for years it's been the first choice when it comes to claw city car.

Everyone loved the previous generation - for a lively response to all driver movements and an engine with more than 180 hp, which seemed ideal for such a small car.

And what did she look like Party Mk7? Pretty predatory, but something was missing for me. It seemed taller rather than wider. The real dimensions do not confirm it, because it was 1722 mm wide and 1481 mm high - well, that's the effect. IN new Fiesta it’s not there, it’s 12mm lower, and at the same time 13mm wider – not much, but I like it better this way.

ST version of course, it has a twin tailpipe, a pair of "ST" badges, and big 18-inch wheels. The choice of tires here is a bit controversial - in size 205/40 they seem too narrow - the rims do not protect anything.

In the interior - as is new Fiesta - We have pretty good materials, a protruding screen, air conditioning and a manual transmission. However, the clock is not very interesting - although they are analog, they lack expressiveness. It's just a piece of plain plastic with directions and markings and a color screen in between. It could be more interesting, but it also looks like the basis for a virtual cockpit. Who knows, maybe it will appear in the catalog on the occasion of some facelift?

However, the seats with the Recaro logo come to the fore. They take turns very well and immediately reveal the sporty character of the car. However, it is worth trying them on in the living room because the strong seat profile is more suitable for thin people.

And as in a hot hatch - Ford Fiesta ST it is a sports car, but still based on a popular model. Although the steering wheel has received a red "ST" logo, it feels too big. In Fiesta with a 1.0 engine, it would be fine, but in ST, the diameter could be a little smaller.

Let's not forget about the practical side of such a hatchback. noisy party it has grown a lot, so inside we won't really complain about the amount of space, but it can still be cramped for five people.

There is also heated seats, there is even a heated steering wheel, Android Auto, Car Play and a number of other modern systems.

And the trunk? Holds 311 liters, so that's probably enough. Of course, there is also a 3-door version, but hardly anyone buys such cars anymore.

The reduction takes its toll and, in turn, "cuts" our biggest engines. When Ford Fiesta ST this process, of course, took place, but there is something to tear off the vocal cords - or fingers on the keyboard?

Prior to that, we had a 1.6-liter turbo engine with 182 hp. Now we have a 1.5, but a three-cylinder with 200 hp. Despite the smaller capacity, new Fiesta ST Accelerates to 100 km / h in 6,5 seconds, which is 0,4 seconds faster, develops a top speed of 232 km / h - 9 km / h more.

The sound of four cylinders can get boring. And three? With a sports exhaust? Also, but probably a little slower. It's just different from anything we know in the segment, it sounds racial, and in sporty riding modes we even hear some pretty loud gunshots. That's all!

Simultaneously, new Fiesta ST has a rear suspension, solved by a torsion beam with wishbones, whereas the predecessor we had a fully independent suspension. Is there anything to be afraid of? Absolutely not.

I did not think that any manufacturer would decide on such a rigidly tuned suspension - the rear is noticeably stiffer than the front. This results in significant and very pleasant oversteer. And not the one that we have to call with the right technique - Ford Fiesta At almost any speed, oversteer occurs when cornering hard.

This is an obvious tribute to those who love and know how to lead. Fiesta ST it is alive, something is always happening in it - it is simply impossible to get bored! On the other hand, however, such an aggressive performance will not appeal to those who want a bit of sport, but most of all everyday comfort. For example, the Polo GTI is designed for this.

Ford Fiesta ST tempts. When properly viewed, it shows the start control symbol every time you stand at a traffic light. You are literally one click away from it. Will you resist?

noisy party it also handles cornering well thanks to the Performance Pack. It is thanks to him that we get Launch Control, and also, probably, the main item of the program - a self-locking differential. For 4100 PLN? This would be the first option I would choose.

However, such a daring driving style should lead to more fuel consumption. Aggressive driving Ford Fiesta ST can bring the fuel gauge to a minimum at a speed of 15 l / 100 km. Fortunately, this is a turbo engine, so the off-road smoothness is really 8-9 l / 100 km - because, however, you can’t resist any temptation 😉

Drive like there's no tomorrow

Ford Fiesta ST essence of the hot hatch. Brings a smile to your face. Every time you enter. Literally every kilometer traveled is pure pleasure.

It's a great car that performs well every day, but I don't think everyone will like its vicious nature.
