Ford could make an electric Transit and Bronco coming in 2025.

Ford continues to demonstrate its commitment to the electric vehicle market. The firm has shown images of what could be three electric vehicles believed to be a Transit van, a Bronco SUV and a professional version of the F-150 Lightning.

During the Ford+ shareholder meeting last Wednesday, Blue Oval announced a pair of dedicated electric vehicle platforms to the market in 2025. and a flexible architecture for battery-powered, XNUMXWD and RWD vehicles, including commercial vans and what looks like a family SUV.

Silhouettes showing some possible electrical models

Ford North America Product Communications Manager Mike Levin tweeted some screenshots from the launch, and there's a lot to be gleaned from the bold blue silhouettes here. There appears to be an electric Transit city van, a battery-only pickup truck that could be the prototype of the next generation F-150 Lightning, and a boxy SUV with a rear-mounted spare tire. Hmm, which new Ford model fits the latest?; It looks like an electric Ford Bronco.

Now, before we dive into the possibility of an electric Bronco, let's see what we know for sure about Ford's electric near future. As part of the Ford+ event, the automaker confirmed an increase of more than $30,000 in electrification investments by 2025 billion, including battery development. United States.

In addition, Ford expects that by the end of the decade, 40% of all cars it sells will be electric. That means popular models like the Explorer, as well as commercial and government vehicles, which we'll soon start seeing with the E-Transit and F-150 Lightning Pro.

Our goal is to lead the electrical revolution, which is why today we are announcing an increase in planned electrification spending to over $30 billion by 2025, including a plan to develop, design and manufacture our own batteries.

With all this in mind, it's time to discuss the possibility of an electric Bronco in the next four years. CEO of Ford, but never mentioned how soon it would arrive. No one said the Bronco battery would go on sale in 2025; however, the image of Ford Chief Product and Operations Officer Howe Tai-Tang standing in front of a Bronco-style profile discussing this deadline seems telling.

Also, as dealers are planning special extensions to accommodate Bronco models in the future, it would make sense to capitalize on the brand's potential.

It's certainly possible that the Bronco EV will come later, while the platform it's rumored to be based on will launch in 2025. In part, this may depend on the timing that has passed since its appearance last week. Ford knows it has to cater to its more traditional buyers, which will mean proof that its most popular models like the F-Series are good enough when they run on electricity only. This may influence your decision to release the quiet Bronco SUV sooner or later.
