Ford Ranger Wildtrack - for every budget and every market

Big? Yes! Strong? Of course! Hard? Of course! Simple? Primitive? Poorly equipped? You can’t say about American pickups for a long time. After the Geneva Motor Show, the gallery of these cars was replenished with another one - the Ford Ranger Wildtrak. In essence, this is a world-famous family of vans with three body styles, two suspension heights, two- or four-wheel drive and five trim levels. Customers in 180 countries around the world will be able to find the most suitable version for themselves.

The car is massive and angular. Looks like a solid, reliable construction. The radiator grille is large, with strong, thick crossbars. The impression of power is enhanced by a connected air intake in the bumper, surrounded by a black plastic cover. The car is mounted on eighteen-inch wheels and fitted with roof rails, giving it a sporty, rather than working, look.

The interior also retains a sporty character. The massive dashboard has a large center console in the center that looks like a dashboard. The material covering the console has a corrugated surface, similar to the surface of a lake in a light breeze. This structure was meant to resemble modern materials such as carbon fibers. The upholstery of the seats is made partly from leather and partly from fabrics, incl. reminiscent of airy pieces of sportswear. Contrasting stitching and orange inserts add style to the upholstery.

The interior of the car is spacious and, according to Ford, is at the forefront of this segment in terms of size and comfort. This is especially felt by rear seat passengers, who have more space available than in previous generations. In total, there are 23 compartments in the cabin. These include a 6-can soda-cooling compartment between the front seats and a compartment in front of the passenger that houses a laptop with an XNUMX-inch screen. The radio has connectors for iPod and USB drives, as well as streaming playback of files downloaded via Bluetooth from your phone. The center console has a five-inch color screen that displays navigation data.

In Europe, two versions of the engine will be available - both diesel. The 2,2-liter four-cylinder engine develops 150 hp. and maximum torque of 375 Nm, while the 3,2-liter five-cylinder engine produces 200 hp. and maximum torque of 470 Nm. Economical engines in combination with an 80 l tank should provide a long range. Gearboxes will be six-speed manual and automatic. The manual transmission is accompanied by a system that prompts the driver when to change gears, while the automatic, in addition to the normal driving mode, has a more dynamic Performance mode and the ability to shift gears in sequential mode.

The car will be available in a more off-road and better off-road version, which will have a reinforced frame, with the transmission components positioned to minimize the risk of damage and increased ground clearance by up to 23 cm. Cars will be offered with a drive on one or both axles. In the latter case, the handle located next to the gear lever allows you to switch the drive between one axle and two axles in road and off-road versions. With the off-road option enabled, not only the gears change, but also the accelerator pedal sensitivity to avoid accidental over-acceleration when crawling over rough terrain.

The car will have an ESP stabilization system, as well as front and side airbags as standard. Numerous electronic driver assistance systems include trailer behavior monitoring, hill descent control, and parking assistance with a rearview camera.
