FPS - Fire Protection System

The fire protection system is installed on the latest generation of the Fiat group (also present on Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Maserati). It is a passive safety system.

If the car gets into an accident, the device simultaneously activates an inertia switch and two special valves that block the supply of fuel to the engine and its output in the event of a rollover. There is also a tank and cab, which are particularly fire-resistant, combined with a special heat-resistant aluminum plate located between the engine and the interior of the car.
