Tesla Model 3 battery warranty: 160/192 thousand kilometers or 8 years

Tesla has published information on the battery warranty for Model 3. Unlike Model S and X, Model 3 has an additional mileage limit: 160 or 192 thousand kilometers.

Table of contents

  • Model 3 Battery Warranty Terms
    • Additional guarantee: at least 70 percent capacity

The 160-kilometer limit applies to the standard version of the vehicle with an EPA range of 354 kilometers.. The “Long Range” variant with an increased battery and a range of 499 kilometers should have a limit of 192 kilometers. If the car owner drives less, the warranty expires after eight years. Warranty terms are valid for the US and Canada, but are expected to be very similar in Europe.

The average Pole drives about 12 kilometers a year, which means that in eight years, his mileage should be 96 kilometers. "Must" because it should be added that Polish owners of cars with LPG and diesel drive more - this means that cars running on cheaper fuel (the cost of electricity compared to the cost of gasoline) will also have more mileage than in average cars in Poland. .

Additional guarantee: at least 70 percent capacity

Another interesting fact appeared in the Tesla warranty: the company guarantees that upon mileage or within the period specified in the warranty, battery capacity will not drop below 70 percent of its original value... Everything suggests that the manufacturer does not risk anything. Current data for Model S and Model X (18 cells) show that Tesla batteries are draining very slowly:
