Ford CEO ridiculed Tesla's falling glass roof. Mach-E has the same problem.

A Tesla Model Y car without a glass roof once appeared on social media. Its owner claimed that he fell while driving. Darren Palmer, Ford's CEO of electric vehicles, teased that the Mach-E Mustang would fit perfectly and fail.

It is unclear if the service will expand globally, but it is known that there were about 1 Ford Mustang Mach-E model year (812) models in Canada. Car glass roofs can be improperly attached, so there is a risk that they will loosen in the future and fall off over time. Therefore, the manufacturer plans to apply an additional layer of glue to them [after removing the roof?].

It's not over yet. In 3 Mustang Mach-E, the windshields may have been incorrectly installed. In the event of a collision, they may fall. The problem looks less alarming because air pushes the glass against the cab while driving, but this can have serious consequences if the car suddenly stops (source).

The roof and glass maintenance campaign has not been announced anywhere else in the world, not even in Ford's home country. It is possible that problems with glue arise in countries with high temperature fluctuations, where in summer the roof can be heated in the sun up to 50-60-70 degrees Celsius, and in winter it is exposed to regular and prolonged temperatures down to -20. up to -30 degrees Celsius.

Returning to the glass roofs at Tesla, the Californian manufacturer is so good that it has a channel for quick, impersonal and direct communication with car users. When there are reports of faults, he can either fix them with the software or – if the latter proves impossible – call people in for a service check with a single message. Even before the topic is of interest to the relevant organizations.

Note from the editors www.elektrowoz.pl: glass roofs are relatively new in cars, so in general one would expect ... Another thing, which is surprising, that for the comfort and pleasure of buyers, manufacturers risk combining materials with different thermal expansions. Anyone who has driven a car with a glass roof knows that in an ordinary car with an opaque roof, a person feels a little like in a coffin with the lid closed. This is especially true for backseat passengers.
