Hybrid bikes coming to BMW soon?
If today it mainly affects the automotive sector, electrification promises to quickly spread to the world of two-wheeled vehicles. In the motorcycle field, BMW is already working on this.
It is clear that business at BMW is progressing rapidly. A few days ago we talked about reflecting the brand in a closed version of his C-Evolution electric maxi scooter, but we learned that he is also working on hybrid systems.
According to a series of patents recently filed by the brand, the manufacturer is working on a new electric wheel motor designed to power future generations of the GS. The system is a priori very similar to that found on board the GS1200 XDrive, a hybrid concept with a 33 kW hybrid engine / generator mounted on the front wheel.
While we do not yet know when such a system will be able to integrate a production model, the pending patent is expected to be quite widespread as it concerns the development of two-, three- and four-wheeled vehicles. We can't wait to see this!
