Hydrophobization - a way to make windows transparent

In bad weather conditions, dirt and dust can accumulate on the windows of the car. Driving is also hindered by rain and snowfall, significantly reducing visibility. A way to improve driving comfort is treatment with a water repellent.

Hydrophobization consists in imparting properties to materials that prevent water from sticking. This treatment has been used for many years incl. on the shafts of aircraft. Hydrophobized glasses receive a coating that significantly reduces the adhesion of dirt and water particles. At the correct speed of the car, rain and snow do not settle on the windows, but flow almost automatically from their surface, leaving no streaks or dirt. The result is a significant reduction in the need for car windshield wipers and windshield fluid, as well as improved visibility in heavier precipitation.

Hydrophobization is carried out from the outside of the glass, it can be applied to both front and side windows. It should only be remembered that after hydrophobization, the use of a car wash should be carried out without waxing.

The applied coating is resistant to abrasion and guarantees appropriate properties for a year or up to 10 thousand. kilometers in case of windshield and up to 60 km for side windows. After this period, it must be regenerated.
