Through its subsidiary Alphabet, the American giant has just invested $ 300 million in Lime, a startup specializing in self-service electric two-wheelers. 

Present in Paris for several days with a self-service electric scooter system, Lime startup is capitalizing on a major new ally with the arrival of Alphabet among its investors. The operation comes after a roundtable hosted by Google Ventures, the California-based giant's venture capital fund that is leveraging its growing investment in innovative vehicles and helping the small startup be valued at $ 1,1 billion.

Lime, a relatively young company, was founded in 2017 by Toby Sun and Brad Bao with the goal of revolutionizing urban transportation with self-service devices based on "free float" (no stations) and the use of electric two-wheelers, bicycles and scooters. ... Today Lime is represented in approximately sixty American cities. She recently settled in Paris, where she offers about 200 self-service electric scooters for 15 euro cents per minute.
