Great Wall made another electric citycar

The Chinese Ora, a Great Wall subsidiary specializing in the development and sale of electric cars, showed off its third electric car sitikar (after Ora iQ and Ora R1). New - a clear hint of competition with the Mini and Smart.

The obvious purpose of the model, which has no name yet (the first option was Ora R2, but it was not finally approved), are large cities with heavy traffic. The new Celestial electric car was quite compact:

  • length 3625 mm;
  • wheelbase 2490 mm;
  • width 1660 mm;
  • height - 1530 mm.

The model looks beautiful, and its design is reminiscent of the Japanese car kei (Japanese for "car" and in terms of legislation, meeting certain standards, such as size, engine power and weight). For the Chinese car industry, this is a bit unusual - more often motorists see similarities with European and American brands. The manufacturer refrained from meaningless decorations and worked hard on the exterior.

The interior of the new electric car is expected to be borrowed from the Ora R1 model, as it will be built on an identical chassis. This means that it will get a 48 horsepower electric motor and a choice of two batteries - 28 kWh (with a range of 300 km on a single charge) and 33 kWh (350 km). The R1 is priced at $14 in China, but the new electric model is larger, so it's expected to cost a bit more. While there is no information about whether the car will appear on the European market.
