Carrying capacity of trailers for VAZ cars

I will tell you my personal experience of owning and operating trailers on my cars. Buying a trailer for me was, one might say, a necessity, since I live in a rural area and often have to carry loads, vegetables, fruits, etc.

I bought a new trailer several years ago at a plant in Voronezh. At that time I had a VAZ 2105 car. As soon as I bought the trailer, I did a little reconstruction, so to speak, I improved it technically. Now let's talk a little about this. Since we often had to carry a lot of cargo, we first had to think about increasing the capacity of this trailer. To do this, we had to make small pieces of planks, thanks to which the capacity of the trailer almost doubled, since the height of the pieces was almost equal to the height of the sides themselves.

In addition to the modernization to increase the capacity, the trailer was also slightly modified, due to which the trailer's carrying capacity increased significantly. From the factory, the trailer was equipped with springs and two shock absorbers, to be honest, with such a design, the trailer's carrying capacity was no more than 500 kg, after which the springs and shock absorbers dramatically sat down and it was simply impossible to carry a heavy load.
So I decided to increase not only the roominess and carrying capacity. Leaving the springs and shock absorbers in place, I also put two powerful springs from the front end of the VAZ 2101, and installed them between the base of the body and the trailer axle. Thanks to this simple modernization, the carrying capacity of the trailer increased, and without any difficulty it was possible to transport loads of more than 1 ton, that is, more than 1000 kg, and this is twice the limit of the factory trailer.

That just was not transported for all this time on a trailer. In the house, 3 cars have already changed, and the trailer serves everything in the family faithfully, it has never failed. Somehow I even decided to check how much cargo can be transported on the trailer. I loaded a full trailer with a mound of wheat, of course the shock absorbers and springs with springs crouched, but at a speed of 70 km / h the trailer behaved normally. Weighed, and it turned out that the mass of the load in the trailer was 1120 kg, which is almost 3 times higher than that declared by the manufacturer. Of course, I do not advise anyone to operate trailers with such a load, especially on the highway, but along a rural road, you can slowly pull such weights without any special maneuvers.

And here is another masterpiece of mine, also a trailer, only now all homemade, with Moskvich hubs. This is what the trailer looked like before the repair.

And this is how it began to look after a good repair, strengthening the side, front and rear boards. The entire trailer was completely repainted, the sides were reinforced, the fenders were attached, after which the trailer became simply unrecognizable. If I had not seen it before the repair, then without any doubt one would have thought that there was a new trailer in front of me.

Here is such a handsome man after a major overhaul, but agree that the work was worth it. Now there are two trailers in the house, it's just a pity that there are no documents for this trailer, since it is homemade, but it will go around the garden, carry potatoes, onions, garlic, zucchini, and even the same grain, half a ton will pull into the lungs.
