Harley Livewire: its specifications are revealed
In the first test on the streets of Brooklyn, our colleagues at Electrek were able to obtain the official data sheet for the first Harley Davidson electric motorcycle.
Harley Livewire now has no secrets for us! If in recent months the American brand spoke widely about the characteristics of the model, then until now it has refrained from disclosing its technical characteristics. Ready! During tests conducted in Brooklyn, Electrek was able to obtain detailed information about the model.
105-horsepower engine
The LiveWire engine, capable of producing up to 78 kW or 105 horsepower, matches the typical styling of Harley-Davidson models. Well highlighted on the motorcycle and designed by the manufacturer's teams, it announces that speeds from 0 to 60 mph (0-97 km / h) are reached in 3 seconds, while times from 60 to 80 mph (97-128 km / h ) is achieved. in 1,9 seconds. At top speed, this first production electric motorcycle from Harley claims a top speed of 177 km / h.
Sport, Road, Autonomy and Rain ... Four driving modes are available to adapt the motorcycle's characteristics to the driver's wishes and conditions. In addition to these four modes, there are three customizable modes, or seven in total.
Battery 15,5 kWh
When it comes to batteries, Harley-Davidson appears to be doing better than rival Zero Motorcycles. While the Californian brand offers packages up to 14,4 kWh, Harley draws 15,5 kWh on its LiveWire. However, it remains to be seen if Harley will be able to communicate in usable capacity. Otherwise, the Zero goes further with a rated power of 15,8 kWh.
In terms of autonomy, Harley goes less than its Californian rival. The heavier LiveWire announces 225 km city and 142 km highway versus 359 km and 180 km for the Zero S. Performance will obviously have to be tested in a benchmark test.
The air-cooled Samsung battery is backed by a 5-year warranty and unlimited mileage.
In terms of charging, LiveWire has a built-in Combo CCS connector. If questions remain regarding the permitted charging power, the brand reports recharging from 0 to 40% in 30 minutes and from 0 to 100% in 60 minutes.
