After the city of Torrance in California, Stanford University and Google, in turn, received their own model of the Honda Fit electric car. The vehicle, supplied by Google, will be integrated into the group's G-Fleet fleet. It will be used to collect as much data as possible about the vehicle's performance, including behavior in the city, on the road or on expressways, CO2 emissions, actual range, etc. psychological reactions of drivers behind the wheel of this electric car. This special study will be conducted by students, researchers and professors on campus.

Thanks to the information gathered from these test models, Honda was able to make improvements to the final version of the city car, even if the performance shown by the prototypes is already satisfactory. The 2013 Honda Fit EV Concept has a range of 121,6 km thanks to a 92 kW electric motor powered by a Toshiba lithium-ion battery.
