The Mazda 6 gets a larger turbocharged engine as standard on most trim levels, making the Mazda sportier on top. It has a 0-60 mph speed a second faster than the Accord. However, on an equal footing, Honda shows Mazda who's boss.

The base Mazda6 without turbo is 0,7 seconds slower than the non-turbo Honda. If you give Honda a bigger turbo and let Mazda keep its turbo, Honda will still outrun Mazda by a few fractions of a second.

While both machines handle pretty much the same regardless of power specs, the Honda still leads the way in emergency braking by 13 feet. The overall effect is that while the Honda is technically the same or better in all performance metrics, the Mazda still feels a bit sportier.
