Honda Test Drive Unveils 3E Robotics Project at CES 2018

The official premiere is scheduled for early January at the show in Las Vegas.

Honda will present its new concept in the field of robotics called 3E (Empower, Experience, Empathy). The official premiere is scheduled for early January in Las Vegas during CES 2018. A press conference at the Honda booth will take place on January 9 at 11: XNUMX local time.

With the help of this prototype, the Japanese brand will reveal its vision of a society of compassion and mutual assistance, where robotics and artificial intelligence will help people in various life situations, be it recovery from an accident or disaster, or recreation and entertainment. ...

Part of the 3E Robotics Concept project is the 3E-D18 (Workhorse), an autonomous off-road AI concept car. The car was created to help people in various matters. The same goes for the 3E-A18 (Cooperative Robot), a prototype companion capable of expressing empathy through a series of facial expressions.

In addition to the aforementioned technological innovations, at its booth at CES 2018, Honda will also showcase a prototype mobile powertrain, including portable, replaceable batteries for electric vehicles and a charging system for electric vehicles designed for use at home, on the road or during natural disasters. The so-called Mobile Power Pack system also includes a device for storing and charging batteries for mobile devices.

The Honda Innovation Center in Silicon Valley will also give details about its Honda Xcelerator project, which focuses on partnerships with startups. At this stage, the brand is partnering with BRAIQ, a specialist in bridging human preferences and artificial intelligence, to fine-tune the driving style of autonomous vehicles. Another partner is DeepMap, which provides HD maps and real-time localization as part of the services offered by self-driving cars. DynaOptics, in turn, confirms the power of optics to improve road safety, while Tactual Labs Co experts create sensor technologies for human-computer and processor technologies. Part of the project is WayRay, a Swiss developer of holographic AR navigation (combining virtual reality and elements of the real world).

The Japanese brand announced last month that the Honda Xcelerator program will expand its commitment to launch environmental projects in Japan, China, Detroit and Europe.
