Hop.City (formerly: Oneślad) will install battery meters. First: Warsaw or Wroclaw
Hop.City, which provides scooters as part of scootersharing, will launch another service. These will be battery meters - in fact: battery meters, a proper name - that is, charging stations for small electric vehicles, where you can also change the battery.
The idea of replacing batteries on the go is not new. In the electric scooter segment, Gogoro has the largest network of its kind, with 2018 stations in Taiwan in mid-750, mostly in Taipei.
In Hop.City, devices will offer a wider set of functions, they will be more versatile:
- replacing the battery if the vehicle (scooter) allows it,
- battery charging,
- car charging if battery replacement is not possible - also scooters or bicycles (Gogoro only supports its own scooters).
The devices should be included in the route planning engine and will be placed in key locations in cities, which means that even owners of third-party scooters or scooters will be able to recharge while traveling. For the development of the network, the company received two grants for a total of PLN 8 million, currently work is underway to finalize the appearance of the device (current stage: alpha 1) and the IT system that will manage everything.
