So the new Accent brings more. Especially cars! It is still difficult to determine the dimensions, it is slightly larger than the Renault Clio and slightly smaller than the Volkswagen Golf, if you can compare. But despite all of Hyundai's real or at least perceived efforts, the Accent is still a step towards more competition in terms of size and roominess in a car. Namely, they put among themselves - that is, between Golf and the like. The latter, of course, is successfully justified by its price.
The cheapest Accent with a 1 liter air-conditioned engine costs just under 3 million tolar, which is quite affordable. The cost of a test Accent with a 2-liter petrol engine (3 HP) and the best Top-K equipment (air conditioning, front and side airbags, ABS, power windows, remote locking, fog lights, ceni leather steering wheel) is 1 million. Tolarov. It is also beneficial because for that kind of money it will be difficult for you to find a car with similar equipment and similar capacity.
New look
The new Accent is already showing its "maturity" in appearance. The headlamp has a modern rounded shape with a smooth glass surface (brighter in the dark). The taillights also look fashionable and attractive, and above all, they nicely complement the coupé line that runs through the car through the front grille, bonnet and rear.
New items are immediately noticeable in the interior. Better quality materials, more pleasant to the touch, have been used. First of all, the dashboard no longer looks as plastic and rigid as in the old model, as it also breathes nicely with the rest of the interior. The three-spoke leather steering wheel fits well in the hands (adjustable in height) and, in combination with the driver's seat with two-stage height adjustment, provides good ergonomics of the seat. It also sits firmly in the back, only tall passengers will lack overhead space, and there will be no particular problems with knees and legs. Of course, in a car of this size, you can't expect the comfort of a limousine. The seats are padded (the driver has a fold-down armrest), and the backs of the front pairs also have two rear and two smaller side pockets for storing newspapers or magazines.
For storing small items, you will find side drawers in the doors and the center console, which is fitted with a rubber gasket at the bottom to prevent items from slipping. There were three storage spaces for bottles and soft drink cans (2 in the front, 1x in the back).
They did not skimp on safety either, since the new Accent has a more durable chassis, and in the case of the GLS Top-K it is equipped with front and side airbags, ABS with EBD system, which helps to keep the car in the desired direction. when braking. For the comfort of passengers, the new Accent also has less noise and vibration (additional soundproofing under the hood, under the car and at the rear).
Better on the road
On the road, Hyundai is much better than its predecessor. Despite the fact that it does not stand out in any way either in terms of characteristics or in driving performance, it is quite an average car that does not evoke emotions. But this is enough for the circle of clients that Accent is targeting. In the city, it steadily catches up with traffic when you need to jump, and the 105 hp engine, according to our measurements, accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 11 seconds. Under hard braking, it stops at 100 meters from 41 km / h to a full stop, which is a very average figure.
However, it's gratifying that the brakes are assisted by ABS, which you won't get for the money in many mid-range cars. The Accent's engine agility is also average. This does not mean that you have to reach for the gear lever all the time, but it is not easy to use. It can sometimes "get stuck" because the gear lever is not one of the most accurate and is moved too far back to avoid minor criticism. However, it is definitely more accurate and gives a better feel than the old Accent.
Thus, Accent is the right choice if you are not a demanding client. If you reproach him for mediocrity in driving, fuel consumption (we measured 9 liters per hundred kilometers) and a not very attractive image, then he is distinguished by a rich equipment, ease of use, a large trunk with a huge loading hatch when lifting the back door, safety in the form of four pillows safety and brakes with ABS, enough space for a comfortable ride of four adult passengers and a solid construction. And all this for less than three million, which is a rarity today.
