Hyundai Coupe 2.0 CVVT FX Top-K

This Tale Coupé exemplifies the classic approach to car design, using time-tested handles and adding Hyundai's signature heritage of rich equipment, build quality and product reliability. But even without that, the coupe looks beautiful, and despite a little competition, it shouldn't be embarrassing. Vice versa!

Proven tricks? It is clear: the classic exterior and interior of a coupe, a sporty engine with a correspondingly increased noise level, a predominantly black interior with a certain tint of aluminum and red accents (seams, diamonds on the seats) and additional round gauges in the center of the dashboard. And the packaging is attractive.

A few small questions remain. The radio, for example, is a great example of ergonomic handling and inadequacy in the exterior of the interior, but since it is being upgraded, you can also “avoid” it; the driving position is good, but nothing more; the gear lever is moved a little back, and the steering wheel is adjustable only in height; outdoor temperature data is available only by pressing a button; the voice of the trumpet does not match the image of the car; a key from an old school, and a remote control hangs next to it, like a pendant; and the torque meter is poorly visible, and the question of how to cope with this while driving is not clear.

It almost always turns out that the middle ground makes the most sense. Even so; When choosing an engine for this coupe, it makes sense to choose the one that we had in the test. Except that it doesn't have direct injection, it is a very modern variable-position product that turns out (at least in this case) to be a great solution while driving; in second gear, for example, it pulls very well from 1000 rpm and easily, even in fourth gear, turns into a soft brake at 6600 rpm.

Thanks to a good mix of torque and power curves, this coupe can only afford five gears, although if it had six you wouldn't blame it. At least for (even) better feel, or just to reduce internal noise at higher speeds. However, the gears are short and magnify nicely, so the ride can be lively and sporty. The switchable ESP is even more lively.

Good torque, spinning fun and volume are the three characteristics of this engine that ultimately contribute a lot to the driving experience of a sports car. This is also the merit of an excellent, almost neutral position on the road, but since this is a classic coupe (van), you should know in advance that it also brings some inconvenience: you sit very low in it, and it is recommended that you sit in the back seat only passenger up to 1 meter tall.

In the front seats, the space is also comparable to classic car bodies, and the view from the outside, which is otherwise partially limited (again due to the body shape), will be very good due to good wipers (up to 180 km / h). hour) in the rain. Considering that the trunk is decently large, well-shaped and a third smaller, then such a Hyundai can be imagined as a family car.

Therefore, the classics cannot yet be written off, if, of course, it is properly implemented in practice. A few minor complaints aside, this Hyundai is a very good choice for those looking for a classic coupe. There is not much to offer, but this does not detract from the good impression that the coupe makes.
