Hyundai? So what is this? Well, the brand may not be famous in our country, because we prefer to buy older Mercedes and BMWs. However, if you look at the offer of this manufacturer, it turns out that from plastic cars for the entourage of Barbie dolls they began to produce something that you can ride.

The i30 was the first car in Hyundai's lineup to introduce the new naming convention. And with it, new quality, new design...everything was new and strange compared to the cars that have been produced so far. Strange enough to say that Hyundai has finally produced something that even I could have if I lived the quiet life of the head of the family. However, this car is not suitable for the restless, but one at a time.

Recently, the manufacturer has been pursuing a policy, the main slogan of which is: “Somewhere I have already seen this.” Just like the smiling Chinese who think they are smart all the time. The i30 is also a collection of different design ideas, but in a slightly more restrained manner. On the side - spotted BMW 1. Behind - also because of the brutal embossing. On the other hand, the front of the car was quite original for a while, but nothing more. The sample in the photos was produced before the recent facelift. Now the front of the car gives the impression that Hyundai and Ford stylists went to pickup clubs together and liked each other. The grille on the bumper is vividly copied from small Ford models - Focus, Fiesta, Ka .... Maybe there is a “Chinese flavor” in all this, but the whole thing looks really cool, and the mechanics deserve recognition.

This model is covered by the 7-year Kia Cee warranty. And this means that it is designed for Europeans, it is quite durable and, despite the stylistic policy, has as much in common with Chinese cars as a Euro container with aliens. And its best price is PLN 49 for the basic version of the Base and with good equipment? Yes, but that doesn't mean the car is the top of the deal. The undoubted advantage is that the manufacturer does not save on safety and frontal airbags and curtains are already included in the standard package. Interestingly, you don’t even have to pay extra for automatic door locking after launch. This is Mercedes style. However, there are also disadvantages. While ABS is offered as standard, as we have the right to do so, ESP traction control cannot be bought even for a million euros. This is interesting, because I would not neglect such an amount. ESP has no choice and you will have to drop almost PLN 200 for the Style version to get it. Although against a million euros it's still free. In addition, the driver's seat in the basic version is not adjustable in height, there is no central armrest in the cabin, not even a manual “air conditioner”, alarms and interface sensors that Skoda puts in Octavia for free. Well, how are you? There is a version of Base Plus. It costs PLN 69 more and if you are looking for a cheap car equipped with everything that a real man would consider a luxury, you should take it. From the regular version of Base, I took a CD radio with mp000 and USB output, an on-board computer, electric windshields, central locking and a few more basic accessories. In addition, it also includes air conditioning, a cooled glove box, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors, and audio control from the steering wheel. So this is good, although there are no such useful “junk” as front fog lights, pockets in the back of the seats, an alarm, a folding key or lamps in sun visors for an extra charge and you have to buy a Style version for almost 5 PLN to have them…. In turn, the flagship i000 - Premium with a diesel under the hood costs less than PLN 3 and offers a lot. Starting with full electrics, heated wipers and seats, and ending with automatic air conditioning, rain sensor, semi-leather interior and tire pressure sensor. It's not overpriced, but I wouldn't pay that much anyway. Not for a compact car.

In addition to equipment, individual versions also differ in engines. And it's the bikes that make the i30 suitable for young and dynamic people, like Sophia Loren's speedboat race. Yes, they are lively enough, but downright boring compared to competing discs. There is no version that is not as dynamic as the Golf GTI or the Civic Type-R, but which can guarantee 100 km/h in less than 10 seconds and an atmosphere more ambitious than a carefree trip to the sea to the rhythm of “Hurrah! This is a holiday!" Bonny M. Especially since the suspension willingly fights every difficult maneuver and does it well. In the cheapest versions, only two engines are available: Base, Base Plus and Classic. Petrol 1.4 l 109 km and diesel 5 CRDI 000 km are PLN 1.6 more expensive. If the former continue to satisfy calm and undemanding drivers, then the latter will overcome even the most hardy. It is dirty and gives the impression that instead of focusing on how to ride, it tries not to burn too much. Sure, it's modest, but bike racing isn't fun. More expensive versions already offer more under the hood. A 90-liter gasoline engine develops 1.6 hp, and a diesel engine of the same power develops 126 hp. Both engines are recommended, although the price of the car increases significantly. You have to pay a minimum of PLN 115 for "gasoline" and PLN 58 for diesel. Not bad for modern compacts. However, this is Hyundai and it is fighting for its reputation. The i400 comes with three gearboxes. Gasoline engines have a 65-speed manual transmission as standard. Where is the sixth gear? Good question, its designer probably still has a liking for Frugo and Wielka Gry drinks - that's why he decided to stay in the 400th. The gearbox in diesel engines has six gears. In addition to the most powerful engines, you can order an automatic. It's funny, but it has 30 gears and is a perfect example of how you can spend 5 zł to put the rest of the engine's energy to sleep and contribute to faster oil consumption in the world. For a diesel engine, the catalog fuel consumption increases by almost 90l / 4km! Gentlemen from Hyundai probably know that this gearbox is unpromising, since they gave such a result in the price list without hesitation .... And I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be low anyway.

What is inside? A pleasant surprise, but still not everything works out. The small windows in the C-pillar look nice, but are as useful in practice as a portable cooler in the Arctic. In addition, the air flow is noisier than an explosion, seat upholstery and some plastics are a scientific experiment, and selected displays are circling blue backlight in the eyes. However, in reality, these are much more serious allegations. The design of the dashboard is interesting and pleasant, and its upper part is finished with a soft material with an interesting texture. In addition, the car has many different storage compartments - including pockets in all doors and a compartment for glasses. It's also interesting on the couch, because the back of the backs of the front seats is covered with hard plastic - the driver will not touch the kidneys with the knees of the passengers, and theoretically they will not be happy about this, because. tear them off. That's right - only theoretically, because there is quite a lot of space in the back. It's also worth remembering that the i30 is available as both a 5-door hatchback and a CW station wagon. So if the 340-litre luggage compartment is too small for you, all is not lost. CW 415l and does not look like a fat 5d version at all. Not only that, the whole i30 doesn't look like the Korean crap that is still being smuggled down our roads. I doubted that Hyundai would ever be able to produce a car that I would not be ashamed to have in the city, but oh well. It won’t get through the throat, but through the article, yes, I was mistaken.
