The teaser images of the Hyundai Seven concept showcase the upcoming Ioniq 7 large SUV.

Hyundai is teasing its Seven Concept, which is the Korean automaker's first all-electric large SUV, the Ioniq 7.

With a local launch scheduled for 2024, the Ioniq 7 could very well be the first all-electric large SUV offered by a major brand in Australia.

Other electric models from mainstream brands such as the Nissan Ariya, Toyota bZ4X, Subaru Solterra and Skoda Enyaq are likely to fall into the midsize SUV category.

A number of large electric SUVs are already on sale here from premium manufacturers such as the Tesla Model X, Jaguar I-Pace and Audi e-tron, with others coming soon such as the BMW iX SUV and Mercedes-Benz EQE.

Hyundai has already teased the Ioniq 7 on Twitter ahead of this year's Munich Motor Show, with a shadow image of the large SUV alongside the upcoming Ioniq 6 sedan and the recently launched Ioniq 5 midsize SUV.

The latest teaser images include a close-up of the headlight cluster revealing the "Parametric Pixels" design theme that Hyundai is using to differentiate models from its electric sub-brand Ioniq. This theme is already present on Ioniq 5.

In addition to the vertical lights on the outside of the lower air intake, the Seven concept has horizontal lights that run across the width of the SUV, reminiscent of the just-launched Staria passenger van.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq teased: Concept version of Toyota Kluger Hybrid and rival Kia Sorento PHEV to be unveiled at LA show The Seven concept features a spacious interior.

Although the name suggests that the production model will be a seven-seater, further teaser images show a spacious interior in the concept version.

Hyundai says it will be a "premium and personalized" cabin that will make even more use of space in the Ioniq 5. Unsurprisingly, the interior is made from environmentally friendly materials.

Like the Ioniq 5, the 7's interior will feature the brand's latest connectivity technology, and it should also be able to update wirelessly thanks to Hyundai's deal to install models from 2022 with Nvidia's Connected Drive software.

Hyundai hasn't revealed too much about the production Ioniq 7 yet, but it will run on an enhanced version of the E-GMP platform that will underpin all Ioniq models. Considering its Toyota Kluger-like dimensions and extra weight, it should get a bigger battery than the 72.6 kW unit in the Ioniq 5.

Following the recent launch of the Ioniq 5, the 6 sedan is expected to be the next cab in 2022 after a production version is introduced next year, which should follow the design of the 2020 Prophecy concept. the third Ioniq model will be launched in 7.

More details will be revealed during the concept's official reveal at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.
