Ile-de-France: STIF confirms long-term e-bike rental

STIF, recently renamed Ile-de-France Mobilités, has just confirmed the launch of its long-term electric bike rental system.

The service is expected to cover the entire Ile-de-France region in the spring of 2019 and should eventually offer around 20.000 electric bikes for long-term rentals.

According to STIF, this device should make it possible to dispense with the full purchase item, as the price of e-bikes is still high for the average user.

Combine e-bike and business

Determined to leave the car in the garage and promote soft regimes, Ile-de-France Mobilités intends to involve employers in its approach through a monthly subscription system that they may be required to reimburse their employees “at a 50% rate”.

If the subscription price, which will depend on the announcement of the competition that the region is about to launch, has not yet been specified, the region promises "preferential and affordable" subscription rates with a subscription of about 40 euros per month before reimbursement from the employer.

The service is scheduled to be launched in the first half of 2019.
