ILS - Intelligent Lighting System

An evolution of the adaptive headlights, it was developed by Mercedes and installed on recently launched vehicles. It interacts simultaneously with all lighting control systems (anti-glare sensors, bi-xenon headlights, cornering lights, etc.), optimizing their performance, for example, by continuously changing the intensity and inclination of the headlights depending on the type of roadway and weather conditions.

ILS headlights adapt to driving style and weather conditions, resulting in significant safety improvements. Features of the new ILS system, such as suburban and highway lighting modes, increase the driver's field of view by up to 50 meters. The intelligent lighting system also includes active and “corner” lighting functions: fog lights can illuminate the edges of the road and therefore provide better orientation in poor visibility conditions.
