Industrial oils I-50A
Industrial oil grade I-50A (the names IS-50 and machine oil SU are also used) is part of a group of medium-viscosity petroleum oils that are used in a wide range of tasks related to reducing the coefficient of friction in machines and mechanisms. The oil is effective in the absence of additional restrictions due to the increased corrosive effect of the external environment and the action of active oxidizing factors. Supplied in accordance with the technical requirements of GOST 20799-88.
physical and chemical indicators
Subject to proper observance of the technologies of distillate purification of feedstock and in the absence of special additives, I-50A oil has the following characteristics:
- Density at room temperature, kg/m3 - 810 ± 10.
- Kinematic viscosity range at 50 °С, mm2/ s - 47… 55.
- Kinematic viscosity at 100 °C, mm2/ s, not higher - 8,5.
- Flash point in an open crucible, ºС, not less than 200.
- Thickening temperature, ºC, not higher than -20.
- Acid number in terms of KOH - 0,05.
- Coke number - 0,20.
- Maximum ash content - 0,005.
These indicators are considered basic. With additional operational requirements, which are due to the peculiarities of the use of industrial oil I-50A, a number of additional indicators are also established by the standard for verification:
- The actual value of the dropping point under certain temperature conditions (according to GOST 6793-85);
- The boundary of thermal stability, which is determined by the viscosity when holding the oil for a temperature of at least 200 ºC (according to GOST 11063-87);
- Mechanical stability, set according to the tensile strength of the lubricating layer (according to GOST 19295-84);
- Restoration of the bearing capacity of the lubricant after the removal of the ultimate pressure on the lubricating layer (according to GOST 19295-84).
All characteristics of I-50A oil are indicated relative to the product that has undergone demulsification. The processing technology (use of dry steam) does not differ from the conditions for demulsification of other technological lubricants of a similar purpose (in particular, oils I-20A, I-30A, I-40A, etc.).
The closest analogues of industrial I-50A oil are considered: from domestic lubricants - I-G-A-100 oil according to GSTU 320.00149943.006-99, from foreign ones - Shell VITREA 46 oil.
Oil I-50A allowed for sale must comply with the requirements of European standards DIN 51517-1 and DIN 51506.
Features of operation and application
Solvent-cleaned, I-50A process grease is recommended for a wide range of industrial applications. Among the main ones:
- sliding and rolling bearing units;
- closed spur, bevel and worm gearboxes in which this mineral oil without additives is approved by the gearbox manufacturer;
- machine components and systems designed to cool the working tool.
It should be remembered that I-50A oil is inefficient at significant technological loads and external temperatures, therefore it is not used in hypoid or screw gears.
The advantages of this brand of oil are: increased productivity and reduced energy losses due to friction, good water-repellent properties, compatibility with other similar oils. In particular, I-50A can be used to increase the viscosity of the lubricant present in the cooling system, for which industrial oils such as I-20A or I-30A are diluted with it.
When using oil, the flammability of the oil must be taken into account, as well as the damage it causes to the environment. Therefore, used oil must not be discharged into the sewer, soil or water, but must be handed over to an authorized collection point.
The price of industrial I-50A oil is determined by its manufacturer, as well as the volume of the product that is packaged for sale:
- Packaging in barrels with a capacity of 180 liters - from 9600 rubles;
- Packaging in barrels with a capacity of 216 liters - from 12200 rubles;
- Packaging in canisters with a capacity of 20 liters - from 1250 rubles;
- Packaging in canisters with a capacity of 5 liters - from 80 rubles.
